takes second at Pomeroy
Dally Ratcliff took second place in the 132 lb. weight class at the Pomeroy Christmas Wrestling Tournament Saturday, Dec. 28. Ratcliff was the only wrestler able to participate as nathan Gimmeson was making a family visit. Ratcliff’s first round match ended with him winning by pin at the 2:40 mark. He was leading 5-2 at the time. In his second match he took a 3-2 lead late in the first period and increased it to 5-2 by the end of the second period. In the third period he increased that lead to 10-2 then had to hold on for a 10-6 decision. In the championship match he faced a wrestler from Kittitas, Wash. He fell behind 0-2 on a takedown but scored a reversal to tie the score at 2-2 by the end of the first period. In the second period he started in the up position and got reversed to trail 2-4. That’s where the score stood when the match came to an end. Prairie’s next wrestling action is a home meet on January 7.
