Summit girls win three games
The Summit Lady Patriots picked up 3 league wins this past week winning at Timberline 44-31, Tuesday, Jan. 21; 46-25 at Highland Thursday, Jan. 23 and 42-29 at Deary on Friday, Jan. 24.
at Timberline

Timberline rallied in the third quarter to cut the lead to 38-27 but Summit was able to hold them off for the win.
Megan Seubert had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. 
Rachael Frei, Sarah Chmelik and Megan Rehder combined for 14 steals against the Spartans.
Rehder also scored in double figures with 10 points while Chmelik scored 7, Ally Hale 6 and Frei 4.

at Highland
In the game at Highland Thursday, Jan. 23, Summit jumped out to a 10-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 24-14 at the half.
They led 34-23 after three quarters then pulled away in the fourth by outscoring the Huskies 12-2.
Chmelik and Rehder scored 15 points each to lead Summit while Seubert scored 8, Frei 6 and Rachel Waters 2.

In their game at Deary Summit won 42-29. No details are available.
With the wins Summit improves to 15-3 overall and 9-2 in league play.

Summit boys win 2 of 3
The Summit Patriots went 2-1 this past week in 3 league games. On Tuesday, Jan. 21 they won 68-53 at Timberline. On Thursday, Jan. 23 they won at Highland 71-26. Finally on Friday, Jan. 24 they lost a heartbreaker to Deary 43-44.
At Timberline
Matthew Schwartz poured in a career-high 29 points to lead Summit to a 68-53 league win at Timberline Tuesday, Jan. 21.
He connected on 13  baskets, including a pair of 3-pointers. 
Summit raced out to a 25-8 lead after one quarter and led 40-17 at the half. They then held off the Spartans  in the second half for the win.
Michael Waters added 18 points and 9 assists while Schwartz stuffed the stat sheet with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals.
Josh Lustig also scored in double figures with 10 points with Nathan Beckman scoring 7 and Dean Stubbers and Tyler Krogh adding 2 points each.
Summit also won the 2-quarter JV game by a score of 26-13.

At Highland
In the game at Highland the Patriots held the hosts to single digit scoring in each quarter.
Summit outscored Highland 24-8 in the opening period and increased the lead to 39-14 by halftime.
By outscoring them 26-8 in the third quarter they increased the lead to 65-22 and invoked the running clock mercy rule for the fourth quarter.
Matthew Schwartz had his second straight 20+ point game with 23 points while Waters and Lustig scored 17 each. Beckman scored 5, Chris Osborne 4, Stubbers 2 and Patrick Chmelik 2 each and Krogh 1.
Lustig had 12 rebounds with Waters and Chmelik adding 9 each.
Summit hit nine 3-pointers in the game.
Summit also won a 2-quarter JV game 26-13.

In the game at Deary the Patriots led nearly the entire game but not when it counted most.
Summit jumped out to a 20-10 lead by the end of the first quarter and still led 29-20 at the half.
They led 36-28 after 3 quarters.
Deary mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter and tied the game with 1:18 to play. Summit answered with 4 straight points to retake the lead. Deary hit a 3 pointer to pull within 1 with 6.9 seconds left and fouled Summit on the inbounds play. Summit missed both free throws and fouled Deary’s Judah Stelck as time expired. Stelck converted both free throws to allow Deary to steal the win.
Waters led Summit in scoring with 16 points with Matthew Schwartz scoring 9. Lustig scored 8, Stubbers and Chmelik 4 each and Beckman 2.
Summit is now 9-4 overall and 7-3 in league play.
