is hospital employee of the year
After the ballots were cast and carefully counted Carri Forsman, Health Information Management Director at 
St. Mary’s Hospital and Clearwater Valley Hospital was selected as the
2013 Employee of the Year. Each SMH employee received a ballot in
December listing the Employees of the Month for 2013. Although it
was close, Carri collected the majority of the votes. The honor was
announced at an employee appreciation event on January 20th.
Forsman was described by a co-worker as, “always caring and helpful; she exemplifies great core values” Forsman has worked for SMH since 1995 and during that time has held several different positions. She was a clinic receptionist for seven years, a transcriptionist for nine years and has worked in medical records for over two years, serving as the manager of the Health Information department for the past year and half. She most recently received additional duties as the Privacy Liaison. “I feel very fortunate to have been able to work and gain experience in different areas of the hospital,” commented Forsman. “I also feel fortunate to work with employees who truly care about the job they do.” During a careers class in high school, Forsman had the opportunity to spend time observing the medical records department at SMH. “From that point I knew I wanted to work in the medical field,” she said. Forsman attended Boise State University and was able to complete her degree in health information by taking online courses from Idaho State University graduating in 2011. In 2011 she became a Registered Health Information Technician and in 2012 she received her Physician-based Coding Specialist Certification. “I want to thank everyone for this honor, but this isn’t something I could have received without all the hard work of everyone in my department and hospital,” commented Forsman. “This is truly a team effort.” Carri enjoys spending time with family and friends and especially enjoys watching her two sons, Carson and Connor, play sports. She also enjoys doing crafts. Carri and her husband, Paul and their two sons live in Ferdinand. |
