receives accolades
Michael Waters, a senior at Summit Academy, has been named the White
Pine League 1A-District II Player of the Year. In addition he and his fellow
teammate Matthew Schwartz were named to the first team, and both have also
been awarded a spot on the All Stars Team along with their coach, Ron Frei.

Nicole Wemhoff was presented one of several awards
she received at the VFW Post 4902 awards night Saturday, March 15 at Keuterville.
She was the Post’s first place winner in the Voice of Democracy Contest
and was also the third place winner at the District level. In the upper
photo Post Commander Joe Riener is shown presenting her the District 3rd
place plaque. She received a plaque and certificate and $100 check for
each level. She also received the a medallion and lanyard. In the lower
photo she is shown giving her winning speech. See article above left.

Last Thursday we hosted the Cottonwood Chamber of
Commerce luncheon meeting at Prairie Community Library. Lo and Behold
we had a visit from a lovely leprechaun, Melissa Wilson. She didn't
