sought for Distinguished Young Women program
The Distinguished Young Woman Program (formerly America's Junior Miss Scholarship Program) is coming to the Camas Prairie and we are looking for girls who are currently Juniors in high school and will be seniors this fall (class of 2015) to participate! The program will be held on June 14th, 2014, at Grangeville Elementary/Middle School and is open to girls from Grangeville, Cottonwood, Nezperce and Craigmont. Founded in 1958 in Mobile, Alabama as the Junior Miss Program, the renamed Distinguished Young Women is the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls. More than $365 million in college scholarship opportunities were provided last year, some of which included full tuition, room, and board to first-class institutions. Many participants leave the program with scholarships to help them with their college educations, but all of them walk away with friendships, life skills and increased self-confidence. Distinguished Young Women strives to give every young woman the opportunity to further her education and prepare for a successful future. If you are interested in participating, please contact Sue or Kim Johnson at 208-413-8428 or 208-750-6460 for more information. We will be hosting an introductory meeting for all participants on Friday, April 11th, at 7pm at the Super 8 in Grangeville. If you have or know area girls who qualify to participate in this exciting program please share this information with them. We are looking forward to a fun and successful first year!" |
