Congratulations to Prairie’s March Students of the Month. From left are Tanner Ross and Justin Ross from the high school and Ellea Poxleitner of the Junior High. Tanner depicts a well rounded student-athlete.  He is a gentle person who leads in ways to are not always visible, but that are always positive.  He is kind and polite and always willing to help those in need. Through hard work and determination, Justin has improved his grades this year. He is full of energy and seems excited to be in school. He even refs wrestling for the younger ages. Ellea is a very diligent, conscientious student who takes great pride in her work.  She assists in the classroom in various manners and is always willing to help other students.  She brings a smile to class each day! The new Bud’s Powersports building south of town as of Tuesday morning. The walls, windows and roof are in place now and work is being done on the inside with the concrete floor being poured. The large door to the right will open into the 50x100 foot shop area. The other door shown will be the main entrance into the parts and display areas. The rock base has also been put down for the parking area. The new building is located on the east side of 95 just south of the historical site and at the intersection of old highway 95 and the current US 95. Click on the photo for a  larger view. 

On April 4 Troop 639 helped the Knights of Columbus do their Spring roadside cleanup. The people who attended were Ryan Uhlenkott, Faith Uhlenkott, Eve Uhlenkott, Matt Beckman, Noah Beckman, Nicholas Beckman, Carson and Rhonda Schmidt, Anthony Karel, Dan Karel, Kevin Karel, Kevin and Kyle Tillinghast, Joe Didier, Shari Chaffee, Hunter Chaffee, Tate Berdoy, Blasé Berdoy, Brad Berdoy and Max Nuxoll. Winners for the Essay Contest sponsored by Idaho County Farm Bureau are (l – r) Lane Wassmuth, Claira Osborne, and Hope Schwartz. Lane Wassmuth, son of Neil and Susan Wassmuth, won first place with his essay, receiving $50. Second place went to Claira Osborne, daughter of Tim and Janet Osborne, receiving $25.00. Hope Schwartz, daughter of Mark and Theresa Schwartz, was the third place winner, receiving $25.00. All are fifth grade students at Summit Academy and their teacher is Mrs. Karla Krogh. Pictured are the winners of the Art Design Contest sponsored by Idaho County Farm Bureau, l – r, Carson Forsman, Ciara Chaffee and Sydney Bruegeman.  Carson Forsman, son of Paul and Carri Forsman, won first place with his drawing of a harvest scene beside a barn with a garden and a barb wire fence. He won $50 for his entry. Second place went to Ciara Chaffee, daughter of Kevin and Shari Chaffee, with her drawing of a barn and a pig in the bright sunshine. She received $25 for her drawing. Sydney Bruegeman, daughter of Neil and Kristi Bruegeman, received third place, drawing a farm scene with lots of animals. She also received $25.00. All the winners are sixth grade students at Prairie Elementary School and Mrs. Sherry Holthaus is their teacher. Congratulations to all! (Photo submitted by PES.)
