Lady Pirates win 2 of 5, to play Troy in District opener
The Prairie Lady Pirates finished up their regular season with a 19-4 win over Highland at Cottonwood Tuesday, May 6 then won 2 of 3 games at District to take second place and advance to State for the 13th straight season. They opened with a 10-3 win over Troy Thursday, May 8 then lost to Genesee 0-14 in the District championship game Friday, May 9. They bounced back to beat Troy again, 10-0, to earn second and a trip to state. . . .
The Prairie Lady Pirates will play in their 13th straight state softball tournament this weekend at Caldwell. Prairie’s first game will be at 12 noon MDT Friday, May 16 against Horseshoe Bend, the first place team from District 3. . . .

Shown are the students of the month at Prairie Jr./Sr. high School. From left are Nathan Gimmeson, Sierra Latimer and Stephanie Jungert, high school students of the month and Madison Pecarovich, junior high student of the month. Nathan is such a compassionate young adult.  He does not wait to be asked to help others in need, he steps up to the plate to see they are helped.Sierra is kind and respectful to all of those around her.  She is very proud to be a Prairie student and is one who is constantly thankful for fellow students and teachers.  Stephanie is one of the most kind and genuine students we have.  She always puts a smile on the faces of students and teachers.  She works hard, volunteers often and makes our school a better place to be! Madison is an exceptional young lady who strives to always do her best in her academics.  Her drive and work ethic are exceptional.  She treats others around her with kindness and respect and she always has a positive attitude. Photo provided by Ryan Hasselstrom.
