has guest speaker
GEAR UP brought guest speaker, Matt Potratz from Orofino, to Prairie Junior/Senior High School to talk to the 7th-11th graders on Monday, June 2nd. Matt was filming for an extreme snowmobile movie in 2009 when he triggered a large avalanche. After showing the students footage of his snowmobile riding and the actual avalanche footage, Matt shared the story of his long road to recovery. Matt's presentation focused on the importance of choosing to be disciplined in the face of adversity rather than suffer the heavy weight of regret. Matt had lunch with the kids and gave them the opportunity to buy his book "Two Hands" at a discounted price.
