The Customer Service team at St. Mary’s Hospital selected Ron Mauer as the June Employee of the Month. Ron was hired in December of 2013 as St. Mary’s Plant Operator. 
According to Ron; “My main job responsibility is to keep the facility in as exceptional shape as possible”. He accomplishes this by performing a multitude of day to day functions; including but not limited to; repairing equipment, plumbing, painting, and most recently remodeling the labor and delivery room. “Maintenance is a big part of patient care,” comment Ron. “I believe the appearance of our facility has a direct effect on our patient’s recovery. I came to St. Mary’s Hospital because I wanted to help people and I believe in our Mission.” “The people here are great and make my work enjoyable,” answered Ron when asked what he liked the most about his job. “I was really surprised when I received this honor, I believe our department is effective because of our teamwork; it is basically a ‘family show’. “Ron is always so polite and very kind, he is always willing to help out and has a very good sense of humor,” commented a co-worker. Ron attended high school in Dayton, Washington. Prior to coming to SMH he was a contractor and a firefighter for the forest service; Ron continues to be a volunteer firefighter. When not working; Ron enjoys hunting, fishing and taking on home improvement projects; he is currently working on fencing off some pasture land. Ron currently lives above Peck with his wife, Mitzi; Son, Ben and daughter, Cheyenne. “Thanks to everybody for being so cool while I adjust to this new career,” replied Ron.. |
