Summit Academy has been turned into the command center
for the Highrange Fire over on Joseph Plains. The top photo shows the tents
and vehicles to the west of the school. Normally you would be able to see
Cottonwood Butte in the background but the smoke in the area pretty much
hazes it out. The second photo shows the supply area to the north of the
gym. The third photo shows more tents set up in the playground area and
the bottom photo shows the portable shower facility.Click on the photos

Jason Stubbers graduated from the Graziadio School
of Business and Management, Pepperdine University, in Malibu, Calif., with
a Master of Science in Organizational Management on August 2. He had the
honor of singing the National Anthem at the graduation ceremony. He is
the son of Ralph and Debbie Stubbers of Greencreek, and they, along with
their daughter Heidi McRoberts, were in attendance. After graduation festivities,
the group attended the Dodgers baseball game against the Chicago Cubs,
which the Dodgers won in extra innings with a home run in the 12th. The
Stubbers also toured the Getty Museum of Art and Architecture in Los Angeles.
The museum sets on a hill above the city and on a clear day you can see
the entire region all the way to the ocean. Unfortunately there were clouds
with a little rain that day—very unusual for LA in August. Photo by Debbie
Stubbers.
