leagues start soon
Several bowling leagues will be starting their seasons within the next couple of weeks at Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont. The following are in order of their starting date: This league made up of both men and women bowls each Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the league lasting 28 weeks. Even though it is called Cottonwood Mixed, bowlers are welcome from anywhere. It is a fun group with a wide variety of skill levels, beginners welcome. Single bowlers are just as welcome as couples as we will draw for teams that first night. For more information contact Debby Benjamin, 962-7018 or Greg Wherry, 962-3556. Please meet at Camas Lanes in Grangeville at 6:30 p.m., for a short meeting, bowling will start at 7:00 p.m. If anyone is interested in bowling we have a spot for you on a bowling team. We are a 4 person team league, we bowl for 28 weeks every Monday night, and we take a break at Christmas. Camas Lanes has an excellent snack bar and we have a lot of fun. If a group of friends would like to bowl, we can get a sponsor for you. Teams will be made the first day of bowling after we see how many bowlers we have. We also have become a mixed league, so, men and women please join us. We plan to start Tuesday, Sept. 9. Then we will go to 7 p.m. Thursday Men is made of 3-man teams. We will have a short meeting to get organized and then start bowling that first evening. Most leagues in the Central Idaho USBC Bowling Association will begin the week of or following Labor Day. We invite all bowlers, and non-bowlers who would like to try their hand at this great sport, to think about joining a league at the bowling establishment closest to you. Our emphasis is always on beginning bowlers or bowlers who have been away from the sport for a long period of time. Each house has experienced bowlers that are willing to help you get started. There are three bowling houses in this association. Camas Lanes in Grangeville - Brenda or Doug at 983-1160, Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont - 924-6649 and Tamarack Lanes in Kamiah - Sandie Daeges at 926-4225. Each bowling center offers women’s, men’s and mixed leagues on various days and nights during the week. Besides the fun of bowling on a league each week the association also offers several different tournaments during the course of the year. There is one for the men, one for the women and a mixed tournament for both men and women. This is everyone’s chance to have fun and to make new friends so come join us now.
