The Prairie football team with the state championship trophy and banner after beating Valley 72-18 in the championship game last Friday evening at Moscow. If it looks like coach Ryan Hasselstrom’s pants are wet it’s because they are after getting the water bucket dumped on him after the game.Click on the photo for a larger view.

The football team knew they were champions even before the game started, at least academically, as they were awarded the 1A-D1 Academic State Champion award for a cumulative 3.359 grade point average. Click on the photo for a  larger view.

A large contingent of Prairie fans made their way to the Kibbie Dome last Friday for the State Championship game. There couldn’t have been a whole lot of people left in town Friday evening and many of those were likely tuned into the radio or watching the game webcast online. Coaches and players traded hugs after the final buzzer sounded.

The 7 seniors plus junior starters Calvin Hinkelman and Jake Bruner got a curtain call with about 3 minutes to play. From left are John Mager, Hinkelman, Mason Dalgliesh, Bruner, Rhett Schlader, Lucas Arnzen , Tanner Ross, Hunter McWilliams and Dally Ratcliff. Click on the photo for a larger view.

The Prairie cheerleaders got in a pretty good workout as they did a jumping jack for each Prairie point on the scoreboard after each score. That amounted to a total of 410 in the championship game. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Brett Uhlenkott was named Father of the Year at Prairie League's Daddy Date Night thanks to an essay written by his daughter Abbie. See article above left. Click on the photo for a larger view.
