The Benedictine community of the Monastery of St. Gertrude celebrates Christmas in the traditional, liturgical manner: for twelve days beginning on Christmas Eve. In the spirit of the Christmas celebration, the monastery will present an afternoon of performances of Christmas music on Sunday, December 28 at 2:00 p.m., with a cookie reception to follow. The afternoon concert will feature the talents of Marci Beckman, Laurie Karel and family, Ben Bross, John Mager, and other musical artists from the area. The selections will emphasize vocal Christmas music with some instrumental Christmas pieces included. The music will be featured in the acoustically renowned Monastery of St. Gertrude chapel.
