KC's hold Hoop Shoot
The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Hoop Shoot was held on January 24.
There were 141 boys and girls from Prairie School District and Summit Academy who participated. Their ages were from 9 to 14 years old.
The winners of the Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus also moved on as district winners and shot another round of 25 shots for state competition. Each district winner received a championship certificate and a medallion.
The 9 year old champions were MaKayla Rose in the girls bracket and Leeland Forsmann in the boys.
Laney Forsmann was the 10 year old girls champion while Lane Schumacher was the boys winner in that age group.
In the 11 year old bracket Trinity Martinez was the girls champion and Kyle Schwartz was the boys champion.
12 year old winners were Jessie Sonnen for the girls and Damian Forsmann for the boys.
In the 13 year old division Lexi Currier was the girls champion and Hayden Uhlenkott was the boys.
Finally in the 14 year old bracket Madison Hinkelman was the girls winner and Devin Ross won the boys competition.
This year many good shooters have the possible opportunity to accomplish a state title and go on to international competition with their scores.
The Cottonwood Knights of Columbus would like to thank Prairie Elementary, Prairie High School and Summit Academy for allowing us to make this event possible.
