Marketing Seminar set for Ferdinand
An Agricultural Marketing Seminar is set for Tuesday, February 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Assumption Parish Hall in Ferdinand. The event is hosted by the Farm Bureau to discuss grain marketing, cattle markets and hedging as well as other issues. You can also learn about GRAINBRIDGE, Farm Bureau’s new agricultural Risk Management software. Users can create marketing plans that provide both break even and profit targets. Progress can be tracked with cash sales, futures, options transactions, crop insurance and government payments. Featured speakers will be Clark Johnston and David Doeringsfeld. Johnston, a co-owner of JC Management is a merchandiser of small grains and hay, consultant with producers and flour mills in Idaho and Utah, and is in his 7th year as an IFBF marketing consultant. Doeringsfeld is the Port of Lewiston manager. He will do a presentation on “The Columbia/Snake River System and its importance to north central Idaho’s Economy.” This will deal with agricultural shipments on the Columbia/Snake River System and the efforts by environmental groups to breach the lower Snake River Dams. The public is welcome to attend and lunch is furnished. |
