School set for Greencreek
The Prairie Area Cereal School is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Greencreek Community Hall. Registration, along with coffee and doughnuts, begins at 7:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 8 a.m. The agenda includes a selection of topics about cereal production systems including a variety of information, fertility management and weed research. Special topics this year include food barley production potential, falling numbers and wheat quality and new Risk Management Agency programs connected with the 2014 Farm Bill. The Administrators from the Idaho Wheat and Barley Commissions will give an overview of markets, production, research and Commission activities. The sponsored lunch is prepared by the Greencreek Altar Society and is sponsored by the Idaho Wheat Commission and the Idaho Barley Commission. Pesticide recertification credits and CCA credits will be available. Please pre-register no later than Friday, February 17th by providing you name and phone number to lewis@uidaho.edu or call the Lewis County Extension Office at 208-937-2311. All producers, spouses, agri-support personnel and other interested people are welcome and encouraged to attend.
