Weekend set for June 27-28
This is the fourth year for Warbird Weekend, a two-day event featuring historic aircraft displays and flights, aviation-related events and presentations aimed at both kids and adults. The event was started to showcase the Idaho County Airport as a place for both business development and as a gateway to North Central Idaho's back country wilderness. Aircraft Attendance: While the list of this year’s aircraft has not been released yet, past year’s attendees have included the Historic Flight Foundation B-25 Mitchell bomber “Grumpy,”Historic Flight Foundation Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat “Bad Kitty,” Oldest Boeing still flying – 1928 Boeing 40C, PV-2 Harpoon “Attu Warrior,” North American Trojans – AT28D5 and T-28A, Vultee BT-13A, North American T-6 trainers, 1943 Fairchild PT26, Romanian IAR-823, Chinese Nanchang CJ-6, Waco Custom Cabin, 1927 Travel Air, Howard DGA, 1950 Dehavilland DAC-1, Navy N3N and PT Military Stearmans. Preliminary Schedule of Events: SATURDAY June 27, 2015 Idaho County Airport 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM Breakfast—The Twisted Cellar 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM Warbird Air Fair - Self-Guided Aircraft Tours Young Eagles - Free Flights for Youth 8-17 Warbird Flights Purchase Flights in the Legendary Aircraft Idaho Army National Guard Obstacle Course and Equipment Exhibit Tours of Anderson Aeromotive Tours of the USFS Grangeville Air Center (GAC) Smokejumper Facility—75th Anniversary Tourism and Recreation Exhibits Historical Aviation Exhibits Remote Control Plane Exhibit 10:00 AM Opening Ceremonies—National Anthem, Presentation of Colors, Honoring of Veterans Unveiling of the WWII Veterans Wall 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Lunch, Ice Cream, Beer and Wine ~ The Twisted Cellar Noon Pilot Dress-Up Contest Noon—3:00 pm Bicentennial Historical Museum Tours Aviation Movie Event SUNDAY June 28, 2015 Idaho County Airport 8:00 AM –Noon Warbird Air Fair - Self-Guided Aircraft Tours Warbird Flights Purchase Flights in the Legendary Aircraft Breakfast - The Twisted Cellar Young Eagles - The Experimental Aviation Association Young Eagles program provides free introductory flights with a licensed local pilot to kids ages 8 to 17.
