The Prairie Community Library will hold it’s annual Open House Tuesday May 5th, 2 pm to 4 pm. The public is invited to visit the library and see the changes that have taken place. The new reading area should be of interest for anyone seeking a quiet place to read a good book. Visit the New arrival, and Large print section, also, the Western and Mystery that also new reading material. The “Ugly” wall now has personality and a great new look created by volunteer, Natalie Williams who also painted the reading area. We are proud of the changes that have occurred and think you will find them quite pleasing. Refreshments will be served and volunteers will be recognized. What will be missing is the beautiful floral decorations that were provided by Patricia Trautman, Board member, who recently passed away. Pat was a faithful board member who could decorate charmingly with simple everyday items. The library would come alive with flower or seasonal scenes. For five years she was chairman of the Bräts and Brew decorating committee creating interesting centerpieces and various other displays that were enjoyed by all. She will be remembered for this and Her artistic flair and sense of humor that brightened not only our board meetings but personal time spent with her. She was faithful in mailing notes or cards of birthday, get well or sympathy from the library. She was a valued member for many years. This beautiful, fun loving, lovely lady will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to all her family and her many friends. |
