Johnson
named VFW state commander
Wednesday, June 10, Rick Johnson of Cottonwood assumed command of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Idaho. Johnson received unanimous consent for the state's highest position from all delegates attending the Idaho VFW convention in Jackpot, NV. His responsibilities as commander are considerable given the influx of veterans returning from overseas and their varied concerns and needs. The state commander is elected to a one year non-renewable term. Johnson served previously as the Department of Idaho senior vice commander, junior vice commander, District II commander, and Post 4902 Commander. The VFW motto is, "No One Does More for Veterans," and Johnson is the perfect choice for Idaho to bring that concept to reality.
