County Fair is this week
The Idaho County Fair got officially underway Wednesday morning with an 8:30 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony. The 4-H Dog Show and the 4-H Rabbit Show both got underway at 9:30 a.m. with the 4-H Poultry Show getting underway at 1 p.m. All three of those shows were in the Vernon Agee Pavilion. The annual Pigtail Contest start at 1:30 p.m. in the Arena Building. Skydown Skydiving will be taking people up for skydiving from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. The 4-H Fashion Show caps off Wednesday’s activities starting at 7 p.m. in the Arena Building. Thursday at 8:30 a.m. will be the 4-H Fitting and Showing Livestock Contest at the Agee Pavilion. It will take a break at noon and continue at 1 p.m. The Old Time Fiddlers will be in the Gazebo at noon and Smiles the Clown will be on the grounds from 3 to 6 p.m. The Two-Minute Talent Show will be held at 7 p.m. in the Arena Building. Friday at 8:30 a.m. the 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest will be held. Following that at 9:30 will be the Livestock Quality Judging. At 1 p.m. the 4-H Horse Fitting and Showing Contest will be held with the Round Robin Contest to take place at the conclusion of all livestock judging. Also at 1 p.m. the Clearwater Valley Cloggers will perform. At 3 p.m. Hunter Angeny and Michael Rehder will perform. From 4 to 7 p.m. at the City Park Cabana the Prairie Booster Club will have their annual Potato Bar. At 7:30 p.m. “Beargrass” will perform. At 7 p.m. the Royalty Evening will be held in the Arena Building at the end of which will be the crowning of the 2016 Idaho County Fair Royalty. Following the crowning, the 4-H Green Swing Dance will be held at the Agee Pavilion. Saturday at 10 a.m. is the Idaho County Fair Parade on Main Street. At 11:30 a.m. the Idaho/Lewis County Cattle Association’s Beef Barbecue will be held near the Gazebo. It will last until the end of the Livestock Sale. At noon 4-H Livestock project awards will be given out at the Agee Pavilion. The final event of the 2015 Fair will be the 4-H Market Livestock Sale at 1 p.m. in the Agee Pavilion. Let us hope the fires get under control so that everyone can enjoy the Fair. |
