Golf Tourney a success
“At first I was worried that we might have to cancel the tournament due to smoke,” said Cheri Holthaus SMH Foundation Coordinator.  “But Sunday morning the skies were pretty clear; however around 1:30 the skies got dark, not because of smoke but because of the thunder clouds that rolled in.  We had to have two different delays due to the thunder and lighting, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the golfers; once the threat of lighting passed they were out in the rain having a great time.”
The team of Jim Church, Denise Tracy, Boyd Hopkins and Dave Green Cellular came in first.  Dr. Brad Schaff’s team was second and 3rd place went to the team sponsored by Matt Forge.
“I want to thank everyone who golfed and or helped out with the event,” commented Holthaus.  “I especially want to thank our tournament sponsors; Askers Harvest Foods, and Life Flight; both are such wonderful supporters of St. Mary’s Hospital.  I would also like to thank Bud’s Power Sports for the use of one of their side by sides.  Without the generosity of everyone involved this tournament could not have taken place.  The proceeds from this tournament will go toSt. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. We don’t have all the expenses in yet, but we are hoping to clear around $6,000.”
