Remacle is promoted
Ethan Remacle, formerly of Cottonwood and son of John and Chris Remacle, was promoted to Security Major at the Wyoming State Penitentiary on Friday September 11. Remacle is a former Marine and served from 2000 to 2004 . His service included a deployment and service in Kuwait and Iraq during the Iraq War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He began his career as a correctional professional directly following his service in the military with the Idaho Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer at North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and transferred to Idaho Correctional Institution, Orofino in 2008 as a Sergeant. During his service with the Idaho Department of Corrections he was a member of the Northern Idaho Regional Tactical Team and in 2006 was selected as Team Leader and was responsible for emergency response to two correctional institutions. He was also the Idaho Basic Correctional Emergency Response Team Academy Commander I Boise in 2009. While in Idaho he was also a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, disciplinary hearing officer, field training officer and he received the Idaho Silver Cross for assisting in saving a fellow correctional officer’s life. He moved to Wyoming with his wife and children to enhance his career with the Wyoming Department of Corrections in 2009 as a Sergeant for the Wyoming Honor Farm where he served as a Shift Commander at the Honor Farm until being promoted to Security Manager and being ranked as a Captain in 2011. He has also participated on the RAIT Committee, Management Development for the Future, the Mentor Program and is an NIC Security Auditor.
