The seventh annual Brats and Brew is now history but what a successful event it was. The support shown the library on Saturday night was overwhelming. You, the folks of this community and surrounding area came out in full force to make this event one of the best ever. It was a delight to make reservations for tables of eight at a time. Our appreciation goes out to the businesses and individuals for encouraging this. The Authentic German dinner prepared by Jeanette Goedert was a huge success. The Brew and Wine tasting winner was Kevin Reuter of Grangeville. M.C.for the evening was Ryan Uhlenkott who entertained the crowd throughout the evening and kept things moving and on schedule. Brent Rowland took the mike this year and with the help of Dennis Rowland and Kent Rad had the crowd bidding against each other and sometimes even themselves adding a sizeable profit to the library. Judy Snyder was the winner of the 50/50 car wash token sale. The popular cork sale was once again a huge success with everyone being a winner. Returning once again was the Coffey Twins and the Satins who provided not only great dance music but entertainment throughout the evening. Once again, St. Gertrude’s Monastery hosted the band, providing them and their family with bed and breakfast. The Library Board appreciates the support these ladies give throughout the year and especially during our fund raiser. A dance contest was held and the first place winners were Tim and Cheri Puckett from Allgood, Tenn. We don’t have the names of the second place couple but Cottonwood’s own Don and Sheila Munkers placed third. |
