Lewis County Historical Society to meet
The Lewis County Historical Society will meet Monday, November 16th in Craigmont.  The business meeting, including election of officers, will begin at 12:45 in the Ilo-Vollmer Historical Society room at the community hall in the Craigmont city park.  A program will start at 2:00 next door in the community hall.
The guest speaker will be Dick Riggs of Lewiston, who will discuss his newest book, This and That From Here to There:  Stories from Lewiston, Idaho.  The book includes stories such as Susan Berman’s Murder; Tragedy at Texas School - Lewiston Woman Eyewitness; Hollywood Comes to Lewiston; Our Local Area Historians - Esto Perpetua Winners in Idaho; 16 Presidents; Psychiana in Moscow; Historic Kiosks and Signs in the Lewiston area; Fast Food Restaurants; Lewiston Fires; Collecting and Collectors; Final Farewells, 2005-2014; My Kindle Books; Children’s Book Reviews; Famous Poems; Lewiston’s Jewish Pioneers; The State of North Idaho; Idaho’s 44 Counties; Daughters of Presidents; Tribune Flashbacks; Do You Remember?; Wake Island; Willamette’s 1941 Pearl Harbor Football Game; The MAAC; Baseball Information; Idaho State Champions; Letters to the Editor; Deadball Book; Profiles in Volunteer Service - Bud Jensen, Hero.
There are a number of Lewis County connections in Mr. Riggs’ book including the movie Breakheart Pass, Esto Perpetua award winners, Wake Island, Idaho State Champions, and Final Farewells.  Although Dick will not cover every topic in the book, he will speak about these.
This is the third book by author, retired educator and historian Dick Riggs, a follow-up to “An Eighty Year Old Looks at Local Sports History in the Lewiston Area” and “Remember When…” which continues to enlighten readers of the rich history of Lewiston, Idaho and the surrounding area.  There will be copies of the new book available for sale.
