In the spirit of giving, the Kindergarten class at Summit Academy held a Baby Bottle campaign for the Hope Center in Grangeville. Because of the overwhelming generosity of students, faculty, and parents we raised $968.63 for this cause. The 7th & 8th grade class contributed the most money and will be treated to a pizza lunch with the Kindergartners. The Kindergarten class was given a tour of the center and treated to milkshakes. We appreciate all the Hope Center offers to our communities on the Prairie. Photo provided by Summit Academy. There are 10 players turned out this year for the Summit boys basketball team, which is a preseason favorite for the White Pine League Division 2 championship. Returning starters for the Patriots are senior Dean Stubbers and juniors Patrick Chmelik, Tyler Krogh and Chris Osborne. Senior Caleb Currier looks to be the fifth starter. Also on the team are sophomores Sean Spencer, Jake Stubbers and Justin Wassmuth and freshmen Dylan Krogh and Luke Wassmuth. Ron Frei returns as head coach with his daughter Kim Frei as assistant. Summit started their season Tuesday, Dec. 1 with a varsity only non-league game at Salmon River. They will also play a non-league varsity only tilt at Clearwater Valley Wednesday, Dec. 2 starting at 7 p.m. before getting into league play Monday, Dec. 7 at Nezperce. Again this year Summit has no girls team due to lack of players.
