Concert
to feature local talent
The Monastery of St. Gertrude Chapel will be hosting a Christmas Concert this coming Sunday, Dec. 27 starting at 2 p.m. Featured performers are: Sr. Miriam Mendez on guitar, performing “What Child is This?: and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” Postulant Danielle Walsh on trombone performing 3 songs: “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming” accompanied by Novice Karen Marting and “The Holy City” and “Frosty the Snowman” both accompanied by Sr. Mary Frances Kluss. Michael Rehder on guitar along with Kody Duclos, Nicole Frei and Maddie Rehder will perform “The Sound of Music,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Edelweiss.” Novice Karen Martin on clarinet accompanied by Sr. Mary Frances Kluss will perform “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and a medley of refrains. After a brief intermission Sally Rehder and Judy Forsman will perform “The First Noel/Pachelbel’s Canon” and the “A Christmas Lullaby” both accompanied by Novice Karen Martin on clarinet and Eloise Riener on piano. They will then sing “O, Holy Night” accompanied by Eloise Riener. Sally Rehder will finish the program with solo performances accompanied by Eloise Riener of “You Raise Me Up,” “Christmas Hallelujah” and “O, Holy Night.” After the concert there will be a reception in the dining room. |
