Dog
Bark Park featured in ad campaign
Dog Bark Park is being featured on several billboards located in the Midwestern portion of the United States as part of an advertising campaign for Toyota’s Rav-4 Hybrid. Frances Conklin said she has had a contest on Dog Bark Park’s Facebook page asking if anyone had seen the billboards and could submit a photo. She added hints each day as to where they were located. They were to come down this Thursday, January 28, but could be used again at a later date. Conklin and Dennis Sullivan related how professional photographers were sent out by the advertising agency to several sites around the country for backgrounds for the Toyota product. Conklin said the photographer showed up in September on a gray, dreary day, probably the first one we had after the long, hot, dry summer. She said he took some photos then later came back and took several more while standing out in the rain. When Dog Bark Park made the cut for one of the sites the ad agency wanted to use, he came back later when the weather was a lot nicer to take the photo that appears on the billboard. Conklin said the grass was brown when he took the photo but it was greened up in Photoshop. The vehicle was also superimposed on the photo and the other items surrounding the giant bed & breakfast dog were edited out of the photo. Dog Bark Park fits the slogan of “Go where no neighbor has gone before,” that is used with the campaign. Conklin said the initial billboards were located in Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana.
