K.C.s
hold annual Hoop Shoot
The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, January 23. There were 142 boys and girls from the Prairie School District and Summit Academy who participated. Their ages were 9 to 14 years old. The winners of Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus moved on as district winners and shoot another round of 25 shots for state competition. Each district winner received a championship certificate and a medallion. The nine-year old champions were Isabella Walsh in the girls bracket and Noah Watson in the boys. Tara Schlader was the 10 year old girls champion and Lee Forsmann was the 10 year old boys champion. In the 11 year old age bracket Delanie Lockett was the girls champion and Lane Schumacher was the boys champion. Twelve year old winners in the girls and boys divisions were Hope Schwartz and Lane Wassmuth. The 13 year old girls division was won by Ciara Chaffee and the boys bracket was won by Cole Schlader. Fourteen year old champions were Jordyn Higgins in the girls bracket and Hayden Uhlenkott in the boys. This year’s shooters have the possible opportunity to accomplish a state title and go on to international competition with their scores. The Cottonwood Knights of Columbus would like to that Prairie Elementary, Prairie High School and Summit Academy for allowing us to make this event possible. All photos below provided by Joe Chicane.
