If you are interested and curious about the benefits of an art organization, there are several in the immediate area. An art group provides resources, support and friendship with other area artists. Central Idaho Art Association: The CIAA has been supporting artists of the North Central Idaho area since 1961. Meetings are held quarterly and as needed. An event calendar is available upon request. They support a Judged Spring Art Show in May in Grangeville, a Show and Sales event at the July 4th Border Days in Grangeville and one at the Kamiah BBQ Days on Labor Day Weekend. They chair the Idaho County Fair Open Class Art and plan painting get-togethers for members and guests. Contact information: ciaa.idaho@gmail.com Salmon River Art Guild: The SRAG started in 1964 and members come from New Meadows, Whitebird and the Camas Prairie. They meet on the second Thursday of every month in Whitebird with a meeting and art practice time. They sponsor art classes with a variety of mediums, support the March Miniature Madness Show and Sale, the Whitebird Days Show and Sale and the judged SRAG Regional Art Show in October at Riggins. With the CIAA group they display art in the Pine Tree Credit Union in Grangeville.
