Duman
to run for Commissioner
Denis Duman of Cottonwood has filed to run on the Republican ticket for the Idaho County Commissioner District 3 position. He will face incumbent Jim Chmelik in the May 17 primary election. He has served the public in many capacities over the years including President of the Cottonwood Chamber; President of the North Idaho Chamber of Commerce; current Chair of Clearwater Economic Development Association, Ida-Lew Economic Development Association and Idaho State Electrical Board. Denis believes the people of Idaho County deserve to be served by the person they elected and be treated with respect as well as listen to and follow the wishes of the constituents. The Commissioner should be working with all of the other elected officials of the County as a team to make sure the County is run efficiently and effectively. That includes not only dealing with issues as they come up, but also being proactive in County business to head off potential problems before they occur. Partnerships with other agencies within the County are also of great importance to the smooth day to day operation of the County. “If you are ready for a Commissioner that will focus his attention on the County and the people and businesses in it, a change is essential. That change can happen on May 17th if the people of the County want it to happen.” Denis is the former Cottonwood Mayor who served the City of Cottonwood for 24 years. He has been a business owner in Cottonwood for 30 years. He was born and raised in Cottonwood and is married to Terri, his wife of 37 years. They have 3 grown sons. |
