Cottonwood City Council meets
The Cottonwood City Council held their April meeting Monday, April 11.
Denis Duman appeared before the council as a candidate for Idaho County Commissioner. He also reported to the council he has been working with Clint Riener who will take over the airport manager duties. In regards to the airport Duman said the smokejumpers will be based at the Cottonwood airport this summer as the Grangeville airport gets resurfaced. Resurfacing at the Cottonwood airport is set for 2017. He also reported that CEDA’s annual meeting is next week and interviews for Melisa Bryant’s replacement at Ida-Lew will be held April 27.
Pat Holthaus reported they pumped 2.1 million gallons of water last month and sold 1.8 million. It amounted to about a 16% loss. One small leak was found and fixed. 
Roy Uhlenkott reported he is getting things coordinated for a water line replacement project to precede the resurfacing project on Broadway/
Jack Duman reported he is working on the scope of work for the sidewalk grant. He also reported the East St. project is expected to start in June with hopes of getting a second shot done prior to the Fair.
He is also looking at a resurfacing project for 1st Street South between Broadway and Idaho Streets.
Homeowners may see a substantial increase in the cost for mag chloride dust abatement as the billing was figured wrong for last year at only about half of what it should have been.
Shelli Schumacher reported work is continuing on the hall basement upgrade. Hand rails should be coming in soon for the handicapped access ramp. The cabinets for the basement kitchen will be coming in early next week.
Roy Uhlenkott reported the fire department had 1 out of town call this past month. Several of the members of the department attended various trainings. He said they have just about a full crew now with several new younger members.
In the Planning and Zoning report Carol Altman said the Credit Union is working on a conditional use permit for some expansion.
In unfinished business it was reported they had an off of $100 for the surplus stove. A motion was made and passed to approve that offer. There were no offers for the surplus copier.
A budget hearing date was set for Monday, August 29 at 7 p.m. They will likely hold a budget workshop on July 25.
In new business a request was approved to waive the hall rental fee for the Relay for Life dinner and auction. This has been done for this same group for the past several years. 
In a related matter, a catering permit was approved for RoDonna’s Country Haus to cater the Relay for Life dinner on April 30.
The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m.
