Walk
for Life is held
Great weather greeted the almost 150 people taking part in Hope Center's 9th annual Walk for Life on May 7th. Everyone gathered at the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Hall in Grangeville for the free breakfast served by the Knights of Columbus and the free health screenings provided by the Partnership for Healthy Communities. Then it was off for the 2-mile walk through downtown Grangeville. The enthusiastic walkers were greeted by friendly shoppers all along the route. Once back at the Parish Hall, bottles of water and cookies were served as everyone settled down to enjoy music by Tom Helmick, pastor to seniors at Grangeville Christian, and a talk by Kerry Uhlenkott, legislative coordinator at Right to Life of Idaho. The event was the main fundraiser of the year for Hope Center, allowing them to continue providing a curriculum of free classes in parenting, relationship building, and money management.
