What old saying would be more appropriate in these days of NAIA World
Series, and major league baseball than the time honored: "It's time to
step up to the plate!"
Well, folks, maybe it is time more of us do just that, to "step up
to the plate" and start insisting on actions and policies more consistent
with our heritage and our beliefs!
For starters, do we realize that any fact source, internet or otherwise,
tells us that our USA is somewhere around 80% Christian? And from the same
sources, we find that Islam and Atheism are bottom beliefs, comprising
somewhere between 1 and 5%?
Admittedly, more recent sources claim that the Chrisitan percentage,
combining the Protestant and Catholic, has dropped a bit in the last ten
years, but it is still a solid fact that three out of every four US citizens
today claim to be Christian!
So, as another old saying goes, "Is the tail waving the dog?" in many
of the things we find going on today?
Are we not inundated with news today informing us that the Ten Commandments
cannot be exhibited in public places? That prayers to our Christian Lord
Jesus are off limits in our schools? That the phrase "under God" is supposed
to be removed from our pledge of allegience? That the modesty desired of
our school children should be trashed by a presidential ruling that allows
use by "gender choice?"
What about rulings denying the use of the Bible in public schools in
most areas? And the restriction against prayers at graduation? Oh, and
let us not forget the effort found among many of the elite replacing BCE
and CE (Before the common era, and common era) for BC and AD, (Before Christ
and AD - literally "in the day of the Lord")? And oh yes! We are expected
to accept evolution as a fact, and not even discuss creationism!
And even though both Islam with its insistence on Sharia Law and Atheism
which strives to eliminate God from every aspect of our lives would drastically
change our American way of life, and destroy our nation and everything
it stands for, why is it not allowed for pastors and public speakers to
speak out boldly against these groups! And more often than not, we find
that their beliefs and philosophies are creeping into our schools in many
areas, are actually promoted in some, and are protected by a "hands off"
understanding in others! And we are expected to tolerate it! Ridiculous!!!
And even more unbelievable is the fact that our next president could
well be an open and proven advocate of socialism, a failed system which
has brought misery, dependency, and even death to all nations which have
tried it in the past! I am often a bit suspicious of the accuracy of things
found on the internet, but for those who would rather use it, than do a
careful study of history, just plug in the word on a Google search, and
see proof of what is claimed above!
Maybe this quote from Nikita Krushchev in 1959 might help set things
straight: "We cannot expect America to jump from Capitalism to Communism,
but we can assist their leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism,
until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism?" So, what will it
be folks" Our way or maybe their way?
