loses everything in house fire
A home at 120 Reservoir Road north of Cottonwood burned to the ground and was determined as a total loss Friday, June 10. The cause of the fire is believed to be from electrical wiring problems. Cottonwood Fire Department, Cottonwood Rural Fire, Cottonwood Police Department, Idaho County Sheriff’s Dept. and Avista Utilities all responded to the fire. The Peggy Sprute family lost everything in the fire and friends and neighbors have come together to get them clothing, shoes and other necessary items. A GoFundMe account has also been set up for the family at www.gofundme.com/28wx4ass. You can also send cash donations to Cottonwood Credit Union in Peggy’s name. Her daughter Brady Beeson also thought you could donate through Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union and Pine Tree Credit Union. You can add your name or choose to remain anonymous. Peggy and her two youngest children, Remington and Della Sprute, had still lived in the house. They lost everything that they weren’t wearing. Clothes and household goods can be replaced but also lost were irreplaceable family mementos and photos including those of Brady, Kylee, Zach and Dustin, Peggy’s older children. Brady says for now they are just trying to gather home goods to help them start a new life and figure out the next step to help them put a new home on their soon to be empty lot. To that end they have rented a storage unit to put things that are donated until they can find a permanent place to stay. You can contact Brady by phone or text at 208-983-1926. This tragedy comes on the heels of Remington and Della losing their father, Colin Sprute, Peggy’s ex-husband, in a vehicle accident only a few months ago.
