Tri-Parish
VBS is held
The Tri-parish Catholic churches held their vacation bible school June 27-30 for 66 children with the theme of Cave Quest: Following Jesus, the Light of the World. The children moved through the cave where they made crafts, sang songs, played games, ate snacks and learned the day’s bible story. A highlight for many children was learning about Jesus and Peter walk on water and then trying it themselves! They learned lessons through skits and the antics of Clark Cavern, a clutzy spelunker who had many adventures and mishaps throughout the week. The children also learned about the Jubilee Year of Mercy and the Corporal Works of Mercy. Throughout the week they brought in their own money to donate to Idaho seminarians. The final day of VBS included Mass and a carnival. At the carnival, the children earned jewels by playing games, reciting bible verses from the week or making cards for homebound parish members. They were able to use the jewels to ‘purchase’ items to be donated. They could choose to buy canned food for the food bank, or make a donation to charities that provide clean water and clothing to those in need. All these donations were made possible by sponsorships from our parish members. Thanks to everyone who contributed for helping the children learn and do the corporal works of mercy! A special thanks to all the adult and teen volunteers who helped make VBS a success! A couple of photos from the Vacation Bible School held at Summit Academy. Photos provided by Alea Wassmuth. |
