of Cottonwood receives award
The Association of Idaho Cities (AIC) recognized the City of Cottonwood with a City Achievement Award on June 23 during the 69th AIC Annual Conference in Boise June 22-24, 2016. Idaho city officials are creative, innovative, and solution oriented. The City Achievement Awards recognize the work of cities around Idaho that have implemented pioneering approaches to improve quality of life, address community challenges, and enhance service delivery in cost-effective ways. This year, awards were given in seven categories: Community Engagement, Economic & Community Development, Parks & Recreation, Public Safety, Public Works, Transportation, and Youth. The City of Cottonwood was recognized with a City Achievement Award in the Public Safety Category for its Alcohol & Drug Education & Enforcement Program, which has a grant funded School Resource Officer who educates students about the impacts of substance abuse and focuses on drug and alcohol enforcement. |
