Registration
open for Raspberry Festival Fun Run
"Run while you have the light of life." ~ St. Benedict Registration is open for the 10K Fun Run and 5K Run/Walk that kicks off the day of family fun at Raspberry Festival on Sunday, August 7. Beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude, the course follows an out-and-back route on a quiet, paved country road. The stretch offers views of the Seven Devils mountains, Salmon River breaks, Gospel-Hump Wilderness Area and the Camas Prairie, making the Raspberry Festival Fun Run one of the most scenic running/walking events in Idaho. The course has an incline over the first 1.75 miles (a rise in elevation of 200 feet), then levels off. The course is marked with 5K and 10K turnarounds. The 10K turnaround is at the historical Holy Cross Church in Keuterville, Idaho. Water stations are located at the 5K and 10K turnarounds. All participants receive a commemorative event T-shirt. Awards are given in each running race in eight age categories. The Raspberry Festival Fun Run & Walk is part of an annual fundraiser to benefit the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho. Runners are encouraged to enjoy the Raspberry Festival following the race with a $5 Pancake Breakfast, fresh Raspberry Shortcake and Gourmet Hamburgers, live music, Kids' Carnival, hand-crafting demonstrations, vintage sale, arts & crafts fair, car show, art show, chapel and Museum tours and more. Registration is $20 per person or $17/each for teams of 5 or more. Registrations received the day of the race are $25.To learn more and register for the race, visit www.MyRaspberryFestival.org.
