Redneck Review
No. 70 8/22/2016
Enough!! It is very possible that an occasional reader of this column might conclude that I dislike Hillary Clinton and enjoy bashing her! Not true! But what is true is that the majority of our press and of our tv news programs today lean heavily towards the liberal side, and thus to the Democratic Party. Serious research proves again and again that news that is favorable to liberals or progressives or democrats is given far more favorable coverage than is given to the traditional or conservative side, or that conversely, unfavorable news for the left often fails to find itself in the establishment press at all..
So the intent of this column is to compare the society we live in today, with its strong and weak points with that of several decades ago. As has been quoted earlier in this column, "You have to know the past to understand the present to predict the future." Well, what is there in the past that people my age remember that might have bearing on events today?
For starters, the United States of America emerged victorious in WWII, 1945, and for a brief period of time, relative peace seemed to be in the future. The creation of the UN in that year was seen as a positive step in that direction. But, hardly a year passed, and it was realized that agents of the Soviet Union, the world source of both communism and atheism, were found in our own government! Alger Hiss, the state department official who represented us in San Francisco for the drafting of the United Nations charter, was found to be a communist agent, and was jailed for lying under oath to an investigating committee. Some other Soviet spies were actually hanged once they were discovered.
So what was the intent of the communist movement then which might be influencing our way of life today? A study tells us that moving the world towards socialism and atheism were primary goals. A few quotations from that period will support this claim:
1) Nikita Krushchev, 1959, quoted last week: "We can assist their elected leaders giving Americans small doses of Socialism, until they awake to find they have Communism."
2) Lenin: "We must practice co-existence, until we are strong enough to take over by world revolution... Conflict is inevitable. Great political questions can only be solved by violence. It is inconceivable that Communism and Democracy can exist side by side in the world. Inevitably, one must perish."
3) Lenin: "Marxism is materialism. Atheism is an integral part of Marxism."
4) Lenin: "We must combat religion. This is the ABC of all materialism, and consequently of Marxism. Down with religion. Long live atheism."
5) Laferte, Mexican Communist leader in 1944: "It is no use hoping for a Communist victory unless we destroy Christianity."
6) Lenin: "We must hate, for hatred is the basis of Communism. Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not Communists."
What about these Communist goals taken from records captured from their 1954 meeting, as documented in Cleon Skousen's book THE NAKED COMMUNIST:
Goal 16: "Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions..."
Goal 17: "Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism... Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks."
Goals 20 and 21: "Infiltrate the press. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV and movies."
Goal 24: "Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them a violation of free speech."
Goal 26: "Promote homo-sexuality, degeneracy, promiscuity as normal, natural, healthy."
Goal 28: "Eliminate prayer of any phase of religious expression in the schools..."

Dear Editor:
For the second year in a row I have been totally inspired by the kind and gentle spirit I have observed in the kids within the 4H Program at the Idaho County Fair.
Both years I have taken my two grand nieces to the fair.  The girls love the animals! With the help and encouragement of the 4H students, Audrey and JJ were encouraged and helped to safely touch, and pet,  goats, sheep, rabbits and pigs. This year the girls especially loved the pigs, and observed with great interest some of them being hosed and scrubbed down with water.
The 4H Program for children ages 5-18 brings out the best in these students. There are up to 400 different projects available for youth development. In speaking to the Extension Office there are basically 7 Divisions here.  Sewing, Making the Most of Me, Expressive Arts, Citizenship, Science, Environmental Ed.  and Livestock.  If a youngster has an interest, there will likely be a sub group for him or her to join.
In a basic way the 4H program is the foundation for this 3 day show each August. The leader’s and the many participating parents are to be commended on a well rounded program.  My sincere thanks to you all.

Dear Editor
I *love* county fairs.  Large or small, they each represent their county and community.  4H, open class, cotton candy and fair food are at every county fair across the nation, familiar with the sounds of the animals, the smells of the food, the people who attend.
Originally formed by the Department of Agriculture to educate farmers, ranchers and homemakers in new and safe practices, county fairs have served Americans very well.  Not only educational, they build community. People come from across the area to attend.  Lifelong friendships are formed between 4Hers.  An army of volunteers work together to make our fair successful.
I helped decorate a booth for the Idaho County Democrats.  Four of us made an attractive exhibit with bowls of candy and little freebies alongside candidates’ cards and posters.
Our booth was vandalized; obscene drawings on candidate posters, information sheets torn to shreds and everything messed up.
We don’t know who did this but now I look at people on the street and wonder if it was them.  Was it you?  Why?  What was your intent?
It was a not an act to be proud of or a brave thing to do.  It was not civil or respectful.  It was childish to come in the night and do your damage.  Did your parents teach you to do this?  I can only believe it was a Republican.  You should be ashamed.
It wasn’t a moral act.  It doesn’t help the community.  It doesn’t represent the freedoms touted by Republicans or the Constitution you espouse to uphold.  Or do you believe those freedoms are only for Republicans?
If so, pack your pistols and spread your ideology as the sign at the Republican booth read, “Freedom plus mortality (sic) equals liberty.”  But what you’re really doing is spreading hatred, fear and breaking down our community.
We have a problem in Idaho County that was blatantly displayed by your destruction.  I have lost a degree of trust and pride in Idaho County, but I want to offer this one thought: whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
If you have a problem with Democrats, man up and vote.  Come out of the darkness and make your voice be heard.  Call me.  I’d love to debate issues with you face to face.  My number is in the book.
