Farmer's Market
This Saturday, August 27, the Grangeville Farmers’ Market is asking customers to complete an annual survey. A drawing will be held from completed surveys with gift certificates given to three customers. The Market will be held every Saturday throughout September, in Pioneer Park from 9:00 to 1:00. New vendors this year bring non-GMO pork, jewelry, lotions and baked goods and a masseuse offers $1 per minute chair and foot massages. Free coffee, live music and the children’s program, the Grub Club, as well as local homemade and home grown items make the Market a great reason to come to the park on Saturday mornings. The Grangeville Farmers’ Market is growing and celebrated its tenth season with a float in the Border Days parade and more Market days. In addition to Saturdays, the Market was held each Thursday evening during the Grangeville Arts’ Music in the Park. The Market hosted a booth for Partnerships for Healthy Communities and a fundraiser for the food bank operated by Victory Kids Martial Arts. New this season is participation in the EBT program. The Grub Club is a free program for children held each Saturday starting at 9:30. It was started with a grant from the Grangeville Community Foundation and continues with support from the Grangeville Elks. Activities that promote healthy living include childrens yoga, scavenger hunt, obstacle course and crafts. Each child receives a cloth market bag and two one dollar tokens per week that can be used to purchase produce and edible plants. NICI donates plant starts that have been used in activities by the club. Parents can shop while their kids are busy.
