15
out for crosscountry (so far)
There are 15 runners turned out for Prairie’s Crosscountry team as of Monday, Aug. 29. Coach Glen Poxleitner said he feels the girls team has a great chance to make the state meet again this year. The boys team looks to be stronger than last season and could challenge for a state berth as well. Returning from last year for the boys are James Villamor, Ryan Glimp, Grant Gehring and Brandon Latimer along with newcomer Luis Samper Flores. The girls team will be lead by returning state medalist Kylie Tidwell with Madison Ulmer, Kodie Tidwell and Hope McIntire also back from the team that qualified for state. Poxleitner said incoming freshman Jacey Rambo will be a strong runner with Callie Perrin, Jessie Sonnen, Ciara Chaffee, Kendra Duclos and Sierah Poxleitner also new to the team this year. Last year’s volleyball crossovers: Chaye Uptmor, Leah Higgins and Sydney Bruner won’t be on the team this year as they were asked to stick to just volleyball. Coaches this year are Glenn Poxleitner with assistants Jenny Arnzen and David Young. Prairie is scheduled to compete at Grangeville this Thursday but that meet may get cancelled as so far Prairie and Grangeville are the only teams signed up to attend. The team will definitely compete at the Asotin Invitational at Chief Timothy Park on Sept. 10. Shown is the Prairie High School Crosscountry team and coaches. Starting Back Row left to Right.
