The Summit Academy Lady Patriots split a pair of 5-game league volleyball matches this past week. On Tuesday, August 29 they lost at Highland 19-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-13, 11-15 and on Thursday, Sept. 1 they won at Deary 26-24, 21-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-11. In the match at Highland, Summit struggled the first two games then blitzed Highland in the third and fourth games to get back into the match before falling in the fifth game. The match at Deary was a little tougher than the home opener against the same squad as they had to go 5 sets this time. Lucy Osborne had 4 aces and 5 digs for the winners while Ally Sonnen had 4 blocks and 6 kills. Bridget Beckman added 3 digs. Summit is now 2-1 on the season and in league play.
