Redneck Review
No. 75 9/26/2016
With Monday night's debate between Hillary and Trump still fresh in
our minds, it might be worthwhile to return to a topic briefly discussed
back in review #60. There it was claimed that the old notion of what Americans
believed had changed a bit and has given us more recently a so-called new
way of looking at things. Historically, citizens in our country were inclinded
to look to themselves for solutions to problems, whereas the modern notion
is that government takes on a big responsibility for dealing with those
problems.
Income too low? Push government to raise the minimum wage! Costs too
high for the medical care needed? Pressure government at every level to
provide free or reduced care! College costs hard to pay? Apply for a government
backed loan! Even better, push for free college education for all interested!
Work opportunity too demanding for my experience and education? Seek out
a government work program to fill the need!
In that same review #60, a brief look was taken at two theories of
economics which are closely related to the different points of view mentioned
above, and the questions and the suggested answers discussed just below.
Those theories are known to economic students as Micro and Macro economics.
With the debate still fresh in our minds, a more detailed look at those
two theories would seem to be worthwhile! Especially Macro, which is the
preferred theory taught today!
Micro economics places the spotlight on the individual, and looks carefully
at the person experiencing an economic problem. Unemployed? Work hard to
develop additional skills through education or work experience, thus making
oneself more valuable to a potential employer! Maybe volunteer for a time
to work without pay to gain that experience! Offer yourself to a potential
employer at a reduced wage rate until you can prove your value to that
employer!
Wages too low to live comfortably? Go to work always early, work hard...
maybe harder than other workers involved, work late.... put in extra time!
Go to night class to improve your worth to your company! Be cheerful and
helpful always to management and the other workers you associate with!
In brief, prove to an employer that you are the most valuable employee
in the company! That your value far exceeds the cost of your employment!
In desperate need of food, shelter, or even medical help? Look to local
churches, to local organizations of volunteer help, to charitable organizations,
or maybe even to a wealthy individual who has a reputation for helping
out needy individuals and families! Perhaps recall to mind the old house-raising
parties that used to help build homes for families!
What about the Macro economic view? Perhaps visualize flying over a
depressed area in a high flying plane, and take at look at the state of
the economy and employment below! Note that the unemployment rate is hovering
around 10%, so devise a program of some kind or another that government
can create to "make work" in that area! How about forced employment and
a minimum wage that must be paid to all people who work! Or require government
to devise a program providing free food, or reduced cost housing, or free
or subsidized education! And of course, free or reduced cost medical care!
Which idea makes the most sense to me? And does my candidate seem to
agree?

Dear Editor,
I think the quote below by Winston Churchill is appropriate in
Jake Wren's relentless war on socialism in your community newspaper:
“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings.
The inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

Vote for Ken Meyers
Ken Meyers is running for the Idaho State Senate to make District 7
and Idaho a better place. His vision is an Idaho where our children
and grandchildren have educational opportunities that enable them to succeed
in a 21st-century economy. Where Idaho does the right thing and benefits
economically by closing the Medicaid gap to provide health insurance for
the working poor. Where we become serious about mental health issues. Where
Idaho has public lands that our children will be able to freely access
and enjoy while benefiting economically. Where there are safe roads
and bridges. Where there is a thriving economy with a growing middle
class that benefits from higher wages and new and retained business. Where
our legislature is transparent, effective, and responsive.
Where there is a government that no longer needs a Constitutional Defense
Fund, that tries to defend unconstitutional laws, has not won a case in
over 15 years and has spent over $700,000 in attorney fees and plaintiff
awards in 2015. This is Ken Meyers’ vision for a better Idaho.
Ken has lived near Lake Pend Oreille for over 10 years. He came to
Idaho having spent over 35 years at Washington State University, College
of Veterinary Medicine where he was a professor, Director of Admissions,
and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. His experience as an educator,
administrator, and scientist taught him that good things happen when proper
goals are set. When your eye is kept on the goal and you move forward by
reaching out, listening with respect, and collaborating to build support
and consensus. If you share Ken’s vision of a better Idaho then vote
for him on Nov 8th.

TRUMP’S PROFIT FROM RELATIONSHIP WITH MUSLIM TERRORIST
The Weekly Standard is an American neoconservativeopinion magazine
published 48 times per year. Its founding publisher, News Corporation,
debuted the title on September 18, 1995. Edited by founder William Kristol
and Fred Barnes, the Standard has been described as a "redoubt of neoconservatism"
and as "the neo-con bible". It is currently owned by MediaDC, a subsidiary
of Clarity Media Group, itself a subsidiary of The Anschutz Corporation.
*
Mr. Kristol and his fellow writers mince no words when it comes to
taking on the hated liberal media. They also unload at will on Foreign
despots and assorted bad guys. Concerning the infamous terrorist Muammar
Qaddafi, the Standard expressed their disdain thusly when he tried in vain
to rehabilitate his reputation as a known international killer and terrorist.
“The problem with a man such as Qaddafi is that terrorism is in his
blood. It is a tool he uses quite naturally in the pursuit of his political
and personal agenda, as capricious as that may be.
Terrorism comes so easily to Qaddafi, in fact, that he has even sought
to use al Qaeda-affiliated operatives to avenge verbal insults hurled in
his direction.” *
Qaddafi governed Libya as Revolutionary Chairman of the Libyan Arab
Republic from 1969 to 1977, and then as the “Brotherly Leader of
the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya from 1977 until his
death.
Qaddafi was a practicing Muslim, and his Jamahiriya followed the Qur’an
for legal guidance.
He imposed sharia law [Idahoans gasp at the thought] on the country
and he proclaimed "man-made" laws unnatural and dictatorial, only permitting
Allah’s law.
He detested Jews, threatened Israel with extinction, disdained Christians
of all stripes, andopenly proclaimed: “It is a mistake that another
religion exists alongside Islam. There is only one religion which is Islam
after Mohammed. All those believers who do not follow Islam are losers.”[Did
Mr. Trump borrow that “loser” label from Qaddafi?]
Throughout his reign, Qaddafi aligned Libya with the Soviet Union (until
its collapse).
1970 --Establishment of Jihad Fund. Calling on all Arab states to wage
"continuous war" against Israel, in 1970, Qaddafi initiated a Jihad Fund
to finance anti-Israeli militants.
Between 1970 and 1979, Qaddafi’s reputation as an unrepentant and unmerciful
terrorist grew, and along with that growth, the U.S. grew tired of the
carnage sponsored by him.
Attempts to acquire nuclear bombs-1972-1978. In 1972, Qaddafi
tried to buy a nuclear bomb from the People's Republic of China.
No luck. He then tried to get a bomb from Pakistan, but Pakistan severed
its ties with him before it succeeded in building a bomb.In 1978, Qaddafi
turned to Pakistan's rival, India, for help building its own nuclear bomb.
In July 1978, Libya and India signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate
in peaceful applications of nuclear energy as part of India's Atom of Peace
policy. (That understanding likewise failed).
1979 “State Sponsor of Terrorism” Listing. By mid-year, Qaddafi’s continuing
support for terrorism landed him and his country on the United States’
list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism". Undaunted, Qaddafi doubled down
and announced his allegiance to the Iranians who had taken over the U.S.
Embassy in Tehran and who were holding U.S. citizens hostage. --52 American
diplomats and citizens were held hostage for 444 days
December 2, 1979- Torching of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli. Qaddafi
directed his Libyan henchmen to torch the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli in solidarity
with the perpetrators of the Iran Hostage crisis. The torching was a success.
The following year Libyan planes began intercepting U.S. fighter jets flying
over the Mediterranean.
March 1986 – Qaddafi called for Arab assaults on American interests
worldwide.
April 5, 1986--LaBelle Disco bombing in West Berlin. Two weeks
prior to this date, Libyan self -styled dictator-strongman and international
terrorist Muanmar Qaddafi called for Arab assaults on American interests
worldwide. A bomb prepared for killing U.S. service men serving in West
Berlin was routed through the Libyan Embassy in Berlin, and then surreptitiously
transported to the LaBelle Disco in West Berlin (a nightclub frequented
by U.S. Soldiers). The bomb was detonated and leveled the place; the attack
was successful- 2 soldiers were killed, and 79 more injured and disfigured
for life.
April 15, 1986--U.S. Retaliation. –U.S. and foreign security agencies
determined that Qaddafi was the culprit responsible for LaBelle. President
Ronald Reagan ordered retaliatory bombing of the Qaddafi strongholds of
Tripoli and Benghazi, killing two of Qaddafi’s sons. Muammar and hisfamous
tent were located outside of the bombing zone, and he escaped unscathed.
Reagan was criticized for launching an attack without an official declaration
of war and/or approval of Congress.
December 21, 1988-- Qaddafi’s Belated revenge--Qaddafi ordered the
bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 carrying U.S. citizens and others from Frankfurt
Germany to Detroit Michigan. Death toll- 259 passengers and crew, together
with 11 civilians hit by the falling debris when the plane blew up over
Lockerbie Scotland (death toll of U.S. citizens was 189 unsuspecting men,
women and children).
Nov. 5, 1994--Former President Reagan announced to the press that he
was suffering from Alzheimer’s.
2003--Qaddafi admitted responsibility for ordering the bombings. In
a move motivated in part by his quest to get off the State Sponsor of Terrorism
List, Qaddafi finally accepted responsibility for the LaBelle Disco and
Lockerbie bombings; he however continued to be an International pariah
until his subsequent death.
June 5, 2004--Former President Ronald Reagan died.
2003-to 2008--Anyone in the U.S. who had even remotely followed international
news knew that Qaddafi was clearly a terrorist (Muslim one at that). Was
Donald Trump so ill informed that he did not know of the reputation of
the guy he was allegedly dealing with when he allegedly sought funding
and business relationships with Qaddafi/Libya for Trump projects? Really
Donald? *
August 2009--Qaddafi announces he will appear in the United States
before the United Nations General Assembly and will need property for pitching
his personal tent.Qaddafi sought property near the Libyan Embassy in New
Jersey to accommodate his entourage and personal “tent” in preparation
for the appearance. The Federal Government and the State of New Jersey
flatly refused him permission and denied the Libyan Embassy permission
to do so. That turndown and rejection was one of the most covered events
in the news in 2009, and anyone who was watching or reading the news knew
that Qaddafi was looking for land for his big circus-like tent and entourage
after failing to find real estate in New Jersey. How did that news
escape the notice of Donald-the King of Real Estate in New York? In reality,
it couldn’t have.
Donald Trump saved the day. He had a 113-acre Seven Springs Estate
in New York that apparently was vacant. Trump seized the opportunity and
leased this New York property to Qaddafi to accommodate Qaddafi’speople
and personal “tent”. A permit was required to erect a tent, but none was
obtained; erection of the tent commenced; the public discovered that which
Trump either knew or should have discovered, i.e. for whom the tent was
being erected; government officials and the general public were outraged;
Qaddafi backed off and took his entourage elsewhere after having paid Trump
for the accommodation he couldn’t use. Trump, the ever vigilant billionaire
real estate tycoon now wants the public to believe he didn’t know who he
was leasing the property to. Really Donald? He also wants the public
to believe that he did nothing wrong accepting money from a known Muslim
Terrorist and then keeping terrorist money that had not even been earned
by Trump under the contract with Qaddafi. Really Donald? Ah shucks, he
was just a billionaire real estate magnate and didn’t know better.
Wow.
My guess is that if President Ronald Reagan had lived to discover his
lordship Donald Trumpdealing on friendly terms with Qaddafi, (the worst
terrorist that our president had tried in vain to eliminate from the face
of the earth), Reagan would have been furious, and rightfully so.
October 20, 2011--Qaddafi was killed in the aftermath of a bombing
raid by NATO forces. He was captured by his own people, shot between the
eyes, and had a sword rammed up his rectum, and thenhis corpse was paraded
through the streets in the bed of a pickup truck. Had President Reagan
lived to see the day, my guess is that he would have beamed with satisfaction.
Here’s what Trump had to say in a 2011 interview with Fox News concerning
his dealings with Qaddafi:
"I dealt with Qaddafi. Excuse me. I rented him a piece of land. He
paid me more for one night on the land than the property was worth for
the whole year or for two years. And then I didn't let him use the land.”
*
Let there be no mistake. The reason for non-usage of Trump’s
land for Qaddafi’s tent was a function of National and local outrage, and
not Mr. Trump’s “art of the deal” and genius. He took money from a known
international Muslim Terrorist, kept the money when the deal fell apart,
and brags about itstill today.
President Reagan sought to eliminate Qaddafi in retaliation for killing
U.S. soldiers and civilians. On the other hand, Donald Trump cozied up
to Qaddafi after the fact. Nonetheless, my prediction is thatmany of my
Idaho friends, relatives, in-laws and acquaintances will reward Trump byvoting
to elect him to the presidency of the very country that had lost soldiers,
civilians and resources at the hands of an international terrorist. Looking
forward to seeing the final pro-Trump vote count in Idaho County.
