Ciara Chaffee was Prairie’s lone medalist at the Inland Empire Crosscountry meet which was sponsored by LCSC Saturday, October 1 at Lewiston. Prairie had all of their runners in the JV races due to some scheduling conflicts for several of the runners. A few others missed the race due to illness. Chaffee finished 3rd in the girls JV race, coming from behind to nip a Sandpoint runner at the finish line. She had a time of 22:07. Kylie Tidwell was next to finish, taking 13th in a time of 23:48. Kendra Duclos was 16th in 24:17. Jacey Rambo was right behind Duclos in 17th in 24:19. Jessie Sonnen finished 23rd in 25:59 with Hope McIntire in 24th at 26:07, just nosing out Kodie Tidwell who was 25th, also clocked in 26:07. Sierah Poxleitner was 46th in 30:29. As a team Prairie was third behind Sandpoint and Cheney with 77 points. Gavin Branson was the top boys finisher, placing 28th out 150 runners in 19:25. Grant Gehring was 34th in 19:34. Next up was Luke Schwartz in 56th in 20:33. James Villamor was 74th in 21:02. Luis Flores was 114th in 22:48. Ryan Glimp was 125th in 23:46. Brandon Latimer was 128th in 23:50. As a team the boys placed 10th with 218 points. The next meet for the team will be the Troy Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 13. District will be at the Grangeville golf course Thursday, Oct. 20.
