activities for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ, Our hearts are filled with gratitude at the blessings that surround us every day as we approach the month of November. You are invited to celebrate the blessings we have been given through growing in your own faith and responding in this invitation through the act of giving; giving of your time, giving of yourself, and giving to others. Please join us as come together to plan and deliver Thanksgiving baskets, appreciate and enjoy each other at our own Thanksgiving feast, celebrate the Holy Spirit through Confirmation classes, learn about God through our mission planning, and challenge each other to grow in faith at our Jr. High Prayer night. Each of these moments of intentional discipleship change who we are and help us move forward as young people filled with blessing and hope. We begin this month with an invitation to our High School youth to attend a planning meeting for Thanksgiving basket delivery. This meeting will take place at the youth room at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 2nd. All High School youth are encouraged to attend. Come and worship the Lord at Adoration at 10:00 p.m. on Nov. 4th at St. Mary’s. It is a great time to spend some one on one time with Him, the God who loves you! On Sunday, Nov. 6th,the evening class for pre Confirmation will meet at the CEC building at 7:00. The Haiti Mission Team 2018 will meet at the OMG at 7:00p.m. on Monday Nov. 7th to talk about fundraisers. Please be present for this meeting if you are interested in going to Haiti in 2018. On Wed, Nov. 9th the High School youth will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the OMG to plan the Thanksgiving feast. Please be present for this great planning adventure, your input and energy is greatly needed. Dinner will be provided. On Nov. 12 and 13 the OMG youth ministry is hosting the North Central Deanery Leadership retreat for High School youth at the CEC building. The day starts at 9:45 on Saturday and ends at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. We will be hosting other parishes for lunch and dinner. I am in need of people to make lasagna for our Saturday night dinner and bake cookies for our snacks. If you are interested in helping please let me know. Thank you and please pray for the success of this retreat as we gather together to grow in Christ’s witness. On Nov. 16th the High School youth will gather at the OMG youth room at 5:30 p.m. to organize and deliver Thanksgiving baskets throughout the communities. Please bring your assigned items. It is always blessing to give from the heart! If anyone would like to contribute to our efforts, please let me know. (We could use baked goods, jams, or money to go toward this community effort). Thank you in advance for your support! On Nov. 21st at 6:00 p.m. the Jr. High are invited to a Thanksgiving feast at the CEC hosted by the High School. High School youth, please be present at 5:00 p.m. This is a night where the gift of community is truly lived out as everyone comes together to celebrate how thankful we are for each other and the gifts we have been given! High School youth please remember to bring your assigned items. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May God bless you and your family on this special day! On Nov. 28th We will be hosting a Safe Environment Workshop in the OMG Youth room at 7:00 p.m. If you need to be trained or renew your training, please attend. On Nov. 30 the Jr. High are invited to the OMG youth room to continue their study on prayer. We will have pizza at 6:30 followed by our session and social. Please bring your friends!
