girls lose twice
The Summit Academy Lady Patriots remained winless with 2 more league losses this past week. On Tuesday, January 10 they lost to Highland for the second time this season 23-50 at Cottonwood. On Friday, Sept. 13 they lost at Kendrick by a score of 28-48. Summit wound up getting outscored in each quarter as Highland outscored them 7-11 in the third and 6-11 in the fourth. Lexi Currier led the Patriots in scoring with 9 points with Ally Sonnen, Erin Chmelik and Lauren Stubbers adding 4 points each and Jessie Sonnen 2. Currier also had a 3-pointer in the game. Summit struggled to score in the first half putting up just 2 points in each of the first two quarters as they trailed 2-8 after one quarter and 4-23 at the half. Kendrick outscored them by just 1 point in the second half as it was 10-10 in the third quarter and 14-15 in the fourth. Stubbers led the Patriots in scoring with 10 points with Taylor Lustig scoring 5. Currier scored 4 which included another 3-pointer. Chmelik scored 3 and Ally Sonnen, Bridget Beckman and Jessie Sonnen scored 2 points each. With the losses Summit is now 0-7 both overall and in league play.
