Girls
District Tournaments start next week
The girls district basketball tournaments get underway next week with play-in games on Monday, January 30. The Prairie girls will be the #2 seed and will open play on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the LCSC Activity Center. Their likely opponent will be Troy, the #3 seed, who plays the 6/7 play-in winner on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The winner of Prairie’s game advances to the district championship game on Friday, Feb. 10. With a loss they would play Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. They would then have to win that game, win again on Monday, Feb. 6 and then advance to a state play-in at Wallace, win that and then win another play-in game against the 4th place team from District 3 to advance to state. After beating Timberline on Wednesday, Jan. 25 for the second time, Summit will host the Spartnas on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. likely at the Auxiliary Gym where they've played their home games this year. If Summit wins Monday they would advance to another loser-out game at the #3 seed’s home gym on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. With a win there they would advance to the double elimination part of the bracket and would play #1 seeded Nezperce at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6. |
