compete at two meets
The Prairie wrestling team competed at the Grangeville Duals and the Challis Tournament this past week. In his second match he won by pin in 1:43 over Brittney Benavidez of Grangeville. Jace Perrin won both his matches. He defeated Peyton Whittle of Kamiah 4-0 then won by pin over Austin Corey of Clearwater Valley in 1:54. 138 lbs.-Duman won by pin over Hyrum Richins of West Jefferson in 21 seconds. He then lost by pin to Tristan Orgill of Marsh Valley in 2:26. In the consolation round he won by pin in 2:30 over Charlie Bullock of Challis. He was then eliminated by Raymond Martin of Bonneville, who won by pin in 1:18. At 182 lbs. Jace Perrin wound up taking 5th place. He opened with a bye then won in the second round with a pin over Desmond Mondok of Bonneville in 3:46. In the quarterfinals he lost 11-13 to Chris Gunderson of Ririe. In the consolation bracket he won by pin in 1:55 over Kamden Bean of Ririe. In the consolation quarterfinals he won by pin in 2:17 over Wyatt Huston of Salmon. In the consolation semifinals he lost a 2-8 decision to Diego Pena of Shelley. Finally in the fifth place match he wound up facing Gunderson again and this time won by pin in 3:30.
