Tri-Parish boys team takes second at Hallissey
I can’t express how proud I am of our Tri-Parish basketball team.    Playing 6 games in less than 48 hours against some quality teams who definitely had the height advantage did not deter our young men.  They left it all on the court, playing with a huge amount of heart.
After winning our first three games, we came out a little flat against a solid St. Marks team and just couldn’t quite get back into the game.   Entering the loser’s bracket and having to win a loser out game against a very tall St. Joes team, these young men battled it out and got themselves into the Championship game.   After this hard fought win, we received the honor of playing against the St. Marks team again.
Although we had spent a great deal of energy on getting into the championship, these young men fought the good fight but ended up on the losing end.    I’m truly blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know and coach these young men.    Thank you to them and their parents for making this a great experience.   Thank you also to my assistant coaches, Doug Johnson and Ellea Poxleitner, taking care of the little things and letting me talk things out.    Thank you to the Parish and the Knights of Columbus for your support.   God Bless and looking forward to 2018 Hallissey.
