Choir to be at Jazz Festival
Prairie Youth Choir will be performing at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow on Thursday, February 23rd. Prairie Youth Choir will be performing at the Jansen Engineering Building in Rm 104 on the U of I Campus at 10:20 a.m. 7th grader, Anna Everson, will be performing in the Alto Vocal Solo Division. Her performance is at the Teaching and Learning Center in Rm. 46 at 11:40 a.m. Prairie Youth Choir was recognized in 2015 and 2016 as an Outstanding Choir and performed at the Young Artists Concerts. in 2016, Anna Everson was recognized as an Outstanding Soloist and invited to perform at Hamp's Club, an evening concert at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. Prairie Youth Choir members are: Kasandra Dinning, Shae Dinning, Anna Everson, Spencer Fiorenza, Kaylie Lockett, Alex McElroy, Clarise Rehder, Peter Remacle, Chloe Rowland, Grace Uhlenkott and MaKinna Wilson. Prairie Youth Choir is directed by Laurie Karel, and accompanied by Brandy Fiorenza on the piano, and Anthony Karel plays the drums. |
