has 27 turned out for volleyball
Prairie has 27 girls turned out for high school volleyball this season. The Pirates welcome a new head coach, Julie Schumacher, as Cheyenne Hudson is now the Grangeville coach. Marlene Forsmann returns as JV-C coach. Schumacher has 10 girls listed on her varsity roster, evenly split between seniors and juniors. Seniors are Leah Higgins, Angela Wemhoff, Sydney Bruner, Josie Peery and Alexis Shears. Juniors are Madison Pecarovich, Kristyna Krogh, Jordyn Higgins, Theresa Wemhoff and Alexis Hiler. There are 9 players listed on the JV roster. Juniors are Sabrina Lustig, Ellea Poxleitner, Emma Gehring, Madison Hinkelman and Anna Vinsova. Sophomores on the JV team are Ashton Landers and India Peery. Halle Klapprich and Hope Schwartz are freshmen on the team. 8 players are listed currently as C team players. Sydnee Bruegeman, NakoniaNuttman, Sierra Chapman, Brooklyn Riener and Anna Kaschmitter are sophomores while Ellea Uhlenkott, Kelly Stubbers and Sierra McWilliams are freshmen. There may be some moving back and forth between the JV and C teams. Prairie’s season gets underway this Thursday, August 24 with a league match at Kamiah. Their home opener is Tuesday, August 29 against Genesee.
